Travel to Bern - the capital of Switzerland to get the feeling of strolling on pages of a history book.

AlpExcursion is inviting all passionate tourists to explore the most notable sights of Bern during two-hours foot tour. Heading from the lobby of your hotel in Bern with your friendly local guide, you will start to find out about many fascinating attractions located here.

The Parliament Building (Bundeshaus) is situated elegantly in the middle of Swiss democracy, also known as the Federal Palace. Since 1902, this attractive building serves as the home of the Swiss government.

The Old City of Bern attracts and fascinates the visitors with its well-preserved medieval structures that kept untouched through the centuries. Also, the Old Town is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, spectacular views of the Alps and Aare river unfolds.

The stroll through the six kilometres of arcades along Spitalgasse Street and Barenplatz will catch on your interests by priding one of the longest weather-sheltered shopping promenades in Europe.

While crossing the Old Town, you will be greeted by Bern's most recognizable symbol Zytglogge - the astronomical Clock Tower. This significant landmark dates back to the 13th century, during the years, it served as a prison, guard tower, clock tower, center of urban life and civic memorial.

The Old town also features Berner Münster (Cathedral of Bern). The Gothic-style church is characterised by its tower, with a height of 100.6 m, which is the tallest in Switzerland.

If you have enough determination and persistence, do not hesitate to climb the 344 stairs of Bern's Cathedral to gaze the unfolded scenery of the Old Town nestled on the banks of Aare River and the snowy mountains of Berner Oberland on a beautiful day.

Another exciting discovery exists in the Swiss capital is Einstein House Museum on the most famous street Kramgasse, the place where the world's genius physicist Albert Einstein has lived.

You will be able to get acquainted with the living conditions of Einstein and his family on the second floor of the apartment.

Conclude your excursion at BarenPark - the bear pit where they are living as it is their natural house. The park is a Swiss heritage site of national significance and is of particular importance in Bern for the reason that the bear is the symbol of Bern and surrounding canton.

After ending the sightseeing trip, you can relax at the Rose Garden (Rosengarten), which is located close to the bear pit. Enjoy a tasty meal while admiring the magnificent panorama of Bern City.
