Embark on a captivating journey through the Swiss Alps with our guided hiking tour along the Lake Oeschinen Circular trail. This picturesque trail takes you above Lake Oeschinen, offering breathtaking views, pristine landscapes, and alpine wonders. You'll be in the capable hands of a seasoned hiking guide throughout the adventure.
Your day begins in Zurich, where you'll meet your driver-guide at the lobby of your hotel. He'll provide a brief orientation before you set off. Dress appropriately for hiking and ensure you have all the necessary gear.
The tour kicks off with a scenic drive through Central Switzerland to reach the village of Kandersteg. Here you will meet your professional hiking guide and ascend via Gondola from Kandersteg to the Oeschinensee station. The ride itself is an experience, as it provides sweeping vistas of the Bernese Alps during your ascent.
The Lake Oeschinen Loop, a 9-kilometer moderately challenging trail, that leads you high above the lake for the most panoramic view. As you hike, you'll pass through forests, meadows, where you’ll find various viewpoints to marvel at the lake's beauty. Your guide will share insights into the local ecosystem, geology, and the surrounding landscape, adding depth to your adventure.
Lunchtime arrives, and you'll savour a delicious packed lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the lake and the awe-inspiring mountains.
Take your time to explore the area, have a snack, capture photos, and immerse yourself in the serene ambience of the Swiss Alps.
The last 3rd of the hike will lead along the shore of Lake Oeschinen and you can refresh yourself in the crystal clear water of the alpine lake.
The hike concludes as you complete the Lake Oeschinen Circular trail and head back to the Oeschinensee station. Your gondola ride will descend to Kandersteg, providing more stunning views.
As you arrive back in Kandersteg, your driver-guide will await your return and take you back to your accommodation after a long and adventurous day.
