Founded in 1969, Zermatt's largest cultural summer event has expanded dramatically. Through music, traditional costumes, dances, and vibrant clothing from bygone centuries, numerous associations throughout Switzerland participate in the event to promote their traditions. A magnificent parade that circles Zermatt is the festival's high point. A wide selection of food and beverages, club performances, and kid-friendly entertainment events are also available to visitors. The Zermatt Youth Fund, which supports numerous youth initiatives in the area, receives a portion of the festival's proceeds.
The traditional parade takes place on Sunday at 13:30.
The event is free of charge.
