Welcome to Lucerne which is considered to be among the prettiest Swiss cities.

Lucerne offers many things to do and to see through the numerous tourist landmarks.

One of its main features is the central location on the shores of Lake Lucerne within sight of the mounts Pilatus and Rigi in the Swiss Alps.

Lucerne is home to the world’s historical heritage and outstanding architecture in each corner. Also, Lucerne is boasting with the fresco facade historical buildings in the old town, various museums and galleries.

You will be greeted at the lobby of your hotel in Lucerne by the local professional guide and head to take this two-hour walking tour to explore the best sights of Lucerne.

Take an overview of Lucerne Railway Station, characterized by the fabulous entrance hall and stylish curved roof. It is designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava.

Passing the station, you will be taken by the beautiful masterpiece dating back to the 14th century - the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) and the Water Tower. It is the oldest covered wooden footbridge in Europe. While crossing the bridge, you will witness many interior paintings dating back to the 17th century. However, many of them were destroyed along with a part of this flourishing bridge by fire caused in 1993 but was rebuilt later.

The Chapel Bridge is Lucerne's symbol as well as one of Switzerland's main tourist attractions.

Along the Reuss River promenade, you will visit Jesuit Church (Jesuitenkirche): a baroque style impressive church.

Afterwards, while continuing the exploration through the well-preserved roads of the Old Town, you will be taken by the beauty of Rathaus. This town hall features a Renaissance architectural style combined with an Emmentaler-style roof, which astonishes the tourists from all around the world.

The guided tour will proceed to Lucerne's Dying Lion monument. It is a sculpture designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen and hewn by Lukas Ahorn, in honor of the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution in Paris.

This engraved stone portrayed the dying lion stabbed by a spear, with the saddest Latin inscription written above the piece of rock "Helvetiorum Fidei ac Virtuti", which means "To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss".

After concluding the informative Lucerne tour, you have several opportunities to enjoy the charm of Lucerne. A relaxing afternoon at one of the lakeside cafes or on a one-hour boat trip across Lake Lucerne. Admire the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks of Pilatus and Rigi mixed with the landmarks of this magnificent city.
