Full description

Welcome to the beautiful Geneva City - the world-known destination for watches and jewelry making.

A visit to this French-speaking city is worthy year-round as it is always shining throughout all seasons. Therefore, AlpExcursion is here to share its local knowledge with you during a 2-hours professional guided tour by foot.

Geneva also characterized as "World's Smallest Metropolis", proudly nestled on the banks of Lake Geneva, right at the foot of the Swiss Alps.

Being greeted by your local guide at the lobby of a centrally located Geneva hotel, the exciting discovery will start.

Geneva boasts a long list of attractions that one dreams of getting acquainted with, like the famous Jet D'Eau water fountain and the Flower Clock in the English park (Jardin Anglais).

Geneva is home to the European headquarters of the UNO and Red Cross, as well as more than 180 international organizations.

Heading to the English Park, you will be amazed by the gathered number of people around the main landmark - the Flower Clock.

It is a true masterpiece running since 1951 and made of lively flowers which change its colors to suit all seasons of the year. Moreover, this watch is proof that Geneva is an exporter to conventional watchmaking.

Proceeding with the walking tour on the lakeshore, you will witness Geneva's centerpiece the must-see Jet d'Eau. It is a large fountain and one of the city's famous landmarks. At an altitude of 140 meters, the Jet d'Eau is visible throughout the city.

The pleasant, informative tour will continue around Geneva's Old Town, through the narrow ancient roads, picturesque squares, most elegant cafes and restaurants. You will be greeted by the Tour du Molard - the stunning medieval tower nestled in the middle of the city at the entryway to the Old Town and it dates back to the 14th century.

Another exciting feature of Geneva is being a competitor in the shopping field throughout Europe. Take a walk through the famous brands such as Armani, Chanel, Dior in Rue du Rhône (Rhone Street) "the Shopping Paradise".

Among the unmissable monuments of our exploration is Saint Pierre's Cathedral, dating back to the 11th century. It represents a combination of the Roman, Gothic and Neoclassical architectural styles.

After concluding the two hours of discovery, one may take advantage of relaxing at one of Old Town's cafes and restaurants.
